I know the exact place I want to start my adventure now! Apparently there is some news flying around about a big festival going on in the town of Sandpoint. I’ve never really been to a festival before, but from what I hear it sounds fantastic! There is going to be food and entertainment there! Plus I hear they are rebuilding some kind of cathedral that burned down several years ago. Silly humans, don’t they know fire does that, hehe. Oh well it all should be a great way to experience new things. I might even buy a few things before I head out to adventure there since it is quite a nice town with quite a few shops in it. I really can’t wait. I think I will start heading westward by tomorrow morning. I should end up in Sandpoint in a couple weeks, depending on if I can find a decent means to get around. That shouldn’t be to much of a problem though. Oooo I hope I can find some good writing materials! I’d love to write about this festival and all the races and people I meet. Who knows maybe something will happen when I’m there that will completely change my life. A big ol’ party should give me a good boost before I head out on a big adventure! Hehe yay for the future!
Favors for kindness..
It still amazes me how many people will see a person on the side of the road and turn their noses up simply because the person is dirty or wearing torn clothing. Never do they think that person might look like this because they fell victim to the bandits that roam these roads. I came upon one such person on my journey to Sandpoint. He was covered in dirt and appeared to be wearing rags. As most people ignored his plea for help I noticed that the dirt was more that it appeared. It was blood that was clotting and caked in dirt from being beaten and rolled on the ground. His clothes wear at one time a very fine material but now soiled and ripped into what others think of as beggars clothes.
I walked over to this man and helped clean and bind his wounds, fed him and gave him my blanket to sleep on. The next day he told me of the robbery that took place and that he was traveling to another city for their autumn festival and to set up a shop selling portraits. For my simple act of kindness he quickly made a portrait for me. Maybe one day more people will learn to help those that need it instead of passing them by.

Festival time in Sandpoint
Autumn is one of the best times of the year. For that is when almost all cities celebrate the harvest with a big festival. These festivals mean FREE FOOD!! Since I’m a young monk I don’t have a lot of money to spare and free food is always welcome in my belly. News of a big festival in Sandpoint is all the talk on the roads and paths in all directions. This year will not only be a festival to honor the start of Autumn, but a new cathedral will be consecrated. I remember hearing the clerics in my home temple talking about a fire in Sandpoint many years ago. They were saddened by that news since the priest of that cathedral had been killed in that blaze. I think it would not only honor my belly but also honor my home temple is I attended such a fine festival. I hope the weather holds while I travel the roads. Who knows, maybe some stupid thief will try and rob me, I could use a little practice, not to mention a little coin in my purse.

{{A quick note regarding the upcoming festival}}
All of you will be there. So come up with the reasons why. This will be the starting out point for your adventures. So no, you can’t just choose not to attend.
Thank you, that is all.
Upcoming Swallowtail Festival in Sandpoint
It has been five years since the tragic fire which claimed the cathedral in Sandpoint. Sadly, the fire also claimed the town’s priest, Ezakien Tobyn, and his adopted daughter Nualia. On the first day of autumn, the new cathedral will be consecrated to Desna during the Swallowtail Festival. Come enjoy some of the finest fare the Sandpoint taverns have to offer, with lunch being provided and entertainment aplenty to be had. At sunset, Father Zantus will perform the consecration, to be followed with further revelry.
{{Some notes from your Lord and Master}}
Alright, so I’ve created the Out-Of-Character category… and this should be used for all OOC communications. I will enclose the subjects of such posts in double curly-braces ( the {{ }} demonstrated above ) and urge the rest of you to do the same. Any OOC comments I might make in an IC post (this will be rare, if ever) will also be contained within {{ }} in order to clearly mark them.
Unless otherwise marked out with the {{ }} then you should assume that anything found on this site is in character information. This does not mean that it is automatically available to every character as knowledge. Anything in one of the ‘journal’ categories should not be something your character knows unless it’s -your- character’s journal, or the character whose journal it is has chosen to share it.
If you have any questions as regards what information your character would or would not have, as always I am the person to ask.
Varisia Here I Come!
Boy am I excited! I’ve finally finished my lessons in magic that my elders have been teaching me. Everyone seems to really push this kind of thing when they notice you have it. I guess I can see why, I mean it is really fun if I say so myself. Though I think it gets me in trouble sometimes…Oh well! A little fun never hurt anyone.
Since I’m done with all my studies and have reached adult hood I can finally leave for what ever life I desire to take up. I really want to see more of Varisia. Sure, I’ve been around other gnome cities and towns around the forest, but I am most curious about the other races that run about these lands. They are such fascinating and funny people. Though I did always love to play pranks on any wanderers around the forest hehe. Hopefully there are many fun and exciting things awaiting me!
Now where to start though…Hmph I guess I need to decide that won’t I? There has to be SOMETHING happening that would interest me in these lands. Hehe maybe I can listen to some news and rumors floating about for any places of interest. I guess I’ll probably write a few places down when I get some information and check them out. I’ll end up somewhere exciting eventually.
I’m going to need a job though. I’ve really been obsessed with writing and finding new information to learn and write about. I heard there is some decent money in being a scribe out in the markets. If there is anything I want to find on this adventure the most other then fun and excitement, that would probably have to be all the things I could write about with the knowledge and wisdom I will come across. Woah would that be great! I want to learn as much as I can! Eeeeek I can’t stand it I am so ready to go NOW! All I need to do is pack my pen, papers, and the little tidbits here and there and I’ll be on my way.
I’m really going to miss my home though. It is always so free and whimsical being a gnome here in the forest. Yet, I’ve grown up a bit and want to head out of this place I call home. Well good bye everyone, good bye Nybor. I’ll miss my childhood, but we all have to grow up and live life right? Besides, I might come back one day to check things out. Then I can tell everyone all the adventures I’ve been on and everything I have seen.
Anyways….I hope your ready Varisia! Because this spunky little sorceress is definitely going to be one of the best adventures and scribes you’ve ever seen! Hehe <3
The road less traveled…
The road less traveled is also known as a path. I am Xavhand and these are my stories about the adventures I have had. The places I have been, and those that travel the path with me. First, let me start these tales where they started, the beginning.
18 and a half years ago I was born. Its that simple yet that is where the normal story stops. Shortly after my birth, my mother and father were attacked as they made a pilgrimage to the temple of Irori in the farthest southern territory near Tian Xia. Since they were killed just outside the temple, the clerics that lived there took me in and raised me as one of their personal body guards, we prefer to call ourselves Monks.
From a very young age I was schooled in the mysteries and arts that they practiced. I was taught that the true path to enlightenment was through pursuit of perfection in all forms of combat. For through perfection, one can defeat an enemy at will, even killing them days after a single touch has been precisely executed. As my skills grew I was compelled to leave the temple and learn the fighting styles from all of the races, in order to obtain the perfection I so dearly desired.
My travels are currently taking me to the north towards Varisia. I feel that great adventures lie in wait for me there…..
